Mark Trapp

7th and 8th Grade Teacher

7th and 8th Grade Teacher

Since graduating from Concordia Teachers’ College (now CUNE) in Seward, NE, I have served in churches/schools in Louisiana, Texas and Illinois. I have served in many different capacities, ranging from teacher to athletic director to music director/Kantor. I enjoy working in the church, especially in the school as I get to see children grow in their knowledge and understanding of the world as seen through the lens of God’s Word. I enjoy sports, especially from an officiating standpoint. We breed and raise golden retrievers and have, for the last 13 years, worked with Lutheran Church Charities to train their K-9 Comfort Dogs.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe that all children can learn. I also believe that not all children learn alike. For this reason, each lesson I teach has multiple facets to it. Making use of multiple methods during the class period makes the lesson accessible for all students. I also believe that I am not just here to teach academics. I am in the classroom to teach the whole child and assist them in their growth, especially with respect to their relationship with their Lord and Savior.

Education:

B.S. in Secondary Education (Math/PE majors), Concordia, Seward, NE; M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction, Concordia, Chicago
